Located near Chikkaballapur, the Kaurava Kunda trek is an offbeat adventure just 75 km from Bangalore. Known for its scenic views, serene atmosphere, and moderate trekking difficulty, the trail offers a mix of rocky climbs, shrub forests, and panoramic hilltop views. The trek starts from Hariharapura village, passes by the tranquil Harihara temple, and involves a steep ascent to the summit. Ideal for both trekking and camping, Kaurava Kunda provides breathtaking sunrise and sunset vistas, making it a perfect one-day getaway from Bangalore.
The first stage of the trek is a straightforward hike to the Harihara Temple. The steps are easy to follow, but during the rainy season, some areas may be slippery. Once you reach the temple, take a moment to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful views of the surrounding fields.
After leaving the temple, the path becomes less obvious, requiring some navigation through rocky terrain and shrub forest. This section can be challenging, especially if you’re not familiar with trekking. You’ll need to navigate steep rocks and thorny bushes before reaching a more open rocky area that offers stunning panoramic views.
The final stage of the trek involves a steep but manageable ascent to the top. The trail is more defined here, and after some rocky climbs, you’ll reach a wide open area perfect for camping. The final push to the summit rewards you with incredible views and a refreshing breeze to cool off after the climb.
